PFIC / Form 8621
PFIC classification, §1291 excess distributions, §1296 mark-to-market, workpapers and Form 1040 integration.
We collaborate with EAs, CPAs and tax professionals who have verifiable credentials, defined expertise and practical experience. Participate in a standalone project or take a defined role in a complex complete return without having to handle every issue alone.
International U.S. tax work rarely fits one generalist profile. PFICs, foreign trusts, foreign gifts, pensions, state issues and a complete Form 1040 may require different expertise. US Tax Pilot uses project-based collaboration to match professionals to the work instead of asking every client to place every issue with one generalist.
These are project opportunities for independent professionals, not permanent employment roles and not assignments to take over an entire client. Each project has a defined scope, information access, delivery recipient, communication method and quality requirements.
US Tax Pilot manages client intake, project assessment, scope confirmation and delivery coordination. Depending on the matter, one or more independent professionals with relevant credentials and experience may take defined roles in specialist analysis, calculations, form preparation, review, signing or complete-return work. Participant responsibilities, information access, client communication and final delivery are established in advance.
Project communications normally use channels arranged by US Tax Pilot. When professional facts need to be confirmed, participating professionals may communicate with the client or primary preparer within the agreed scope; US Tax Pilot continues to confirm service scope, fees and final delivery.
If you already manage the client relationship and complete return but encounter a PFIC, Form 8621, Form 3520, foreign pension or another international tax issue that calls for additional specialist experience, you can contact US Tax Pilot to discuss a defined collaboration.
You may retain the client relationship and coordination of the complete return while placing only the needed analysis, calculations, form or workpapers within the collaboration. Client communications, information access, delivery recipient, and preparation, review, signing and integration responsibilities are defined in writing before work begins. Project support does not automatically transfer the client relationship or expand into complete-return preparation.

These areas describe capabilities we currently want to build and expand. They do not mean every matter will automatically be accepted; each case remains subject to its facts, records and available professional resources.

This website does not publish a fixed roster of professionals. Before collaboration, we verify identity and the credentials and experience relevant to the work. After acceptance, the client is told the participant roles and responsibilities needed for the actual arrangement. Professionals receive client information only after responsibilities and necessary access are defined, and use, disclosure and cross-border access are handled under applicable rules, client authorizations, confidentiality duties and security requirements.
